Barraca strides in.
'What is it Farrel?, I'm a busy man'
'I've come to tell you that I won't be working on the Red Locust anymore' Farrel winced waiting for the reaction.
'Why the hell not?' Replied Barraca 'I have a new job, I'm captaining a ship again for a man named Torres' 'The swamp rat?!, how dare you betray me like this Farrel, I gave you a job when you lost your ship. Paid you well. Made you an officer on my flag ship. If it were anybody else betraying me like this they would be dead by now' Barraca drew a thick blade from the knife belt around his chest and launched it into one of the ornaments shattering it and sending shards spraying over Farrel.
'I will warn you know, If any of my ships come across your out at sea there will be no mercy, we will raid you just like we would any other ship. NOW GET OUT' Roared Barraca.
Farrel leaves, closing the door behind him. He breathes a sigh of relief.
'Well that went much better than expected' He grinned and set off back towards the ship.

Diego summoned Barbossa up to his office, overlooking the bay.
"Yer wanted to see me boss?"
"Yes" Drawled Diego. "If you would care to look out over the bay, I would like to know what you see."
Barbossa looked. "It looks like Farells ship, The Pearl of Sartosa, boss"
"You are correct Barbossa. Now, tell me what he is doing?"
Barbossa looked closer..."He looks like he is firing onto a couple of rocks, boss"
*******************************************
On the Pearl Of Sartosa, newly resplendant in a long blue leather coat, Farell stood on the deck looking down on his crew. "Mister Von Shrieber" He called down to his newly appointed blackpowder officer. "Tell the men that I commend them on their accuracy, however I think we could perhaps speed it up a notch."
"Aye sir" Von Shrieber replied.
Next Farells attentions were turned to the man fighting with the helm. "Mister Stevens, turn the ship around for another pass....remember what I told you about chopping across from the wind?"
"Aye sir," His helmsman responded.
Finally, looking up into the crows nest:
"Mister Elathain, anything to report?"

Elathain yelled to Farell from the crows nest.
"Nothing of importance. I can hear a storm coming up from the south but it's so far away that by the time it hits we will be long gone."

She walked in to find Barraca looking slightly vexed.
"Whats the matter my darling?" she asked. But all she got in reply to her question was a series of ignorant grunts and hand gestures. "Well if you want me to leave then..." she put on her innocent little voice again and held her head down towards the floor. She felt his fingers touch her cheek...he apologised and kissed her gently.
He told her all about how he felt that one Farrell had betrayed him and his generosity and taken a job aboard another ship. He wasnt impressed to say the least. She let him rant as she ran her fingers through his hair. Kissing his neck gently. He continued to get furious as he complained abot many things. She stopped and went to kiss him on the lips...
"Did you put more lipstick on? Your lips look stunningly crimson!!" he asked amazed "My lips...? I...er...yes...i put it on just a minute ago! Do you like it?" Close....too close she thought "I love it!" "What i think you should do..my love...is not stand for any trouble...show them that you are supreme and that you will not be overcome and beaten down....isnt that right?" "You are right...i should show them..." "Come my lover!" she said suggestively and lead him out.......

Farell stood in front of Diego's desk, explaining his earlier actions.
"...So you see sir, I thought it was for the best to give the boys a little bit of fire drill and ship training. "
Farell looked on, anxious as to what Diego might say.
As far as Diego seemed to care, he could keep on waiting.
Farell felt that he should break the silence:
"So...Sir....Any particular orders?"

Barraca awoke. There she was sleeping softly by his side. He smiled.
He had things to do as always, but he found it hard to leave her, still with much effort he strapped on his weapons and left the room.
He opened the main door to his mansion and grimaced in pain, the morning light burning his eyes. He raised an arm to shield them, his head pounding and set off towards the harbour. His neck was aching as well.
'This isn't my day' He muttered.

Diego Torres looked up from his intelligence reports.
'Yes of course, training, good the men can always do with some good training. I think I will encourage Barbossa to get his men practising a little more. Here is the gold to pay your crew for the next week' Diego throws a large bag of gold to Farrel ' I can trust you to give them what they are due?, no taking anything for your own pocket i hope Farrel.' He raised an eyebrow. 'Of course not boss' 'Good, no there are no specific orders. Do what you will Mr Farrel although stay close to the Island I may need you sometime soon. Actually Mr Farrel, I have heard Barraca is non to pleased with you, perhaps you should explore around the other side of the Island for a few days. Keep out of Barraca’s way as it were'
Farrel left the office.
Diego also had things to attend to, he needed to check out his new ship.

Despite himself, Farell was a little nonplussed. Fancy thinking he of all people would fill his own coffers at the expense of his crew!! Part of what had made The Pearl...The ORIGINAL Pearl the good ship it had been was the bond of honesty and trustworthyness that the entire crew had shared. Denying the crew their pay would be like stealing from his own brother. And as for the "stay out of Barraca's way" Suggestion.....Farell knew full well how many resources Barraca could string together, but he was d**n sure that he could hold off a raid from any single ship in Barracas fleet except the Red Locust, and he could have taken that ship out single handed....although it would probably cost him his ship, and almost certainly cost him his crew. This was not mere arrogance. It was based entirely on the fact that Farell was a pretty decent fighter, knew The Locust well, and also knew exactly where the Blackpowder was kept.

Barraca had gathered around 50 of his men. That should be all he needed.
As Lilya had said, he was going to show Farrel who was boss. He would kill his crew and lock Farrel in one of his cells for a few months. He hesitated for a moment, but he and Farrel where friends. He shook is head, no he would do what Lilya had suggested and show these fools who was boss.
He approached the dock and could see Farrels ship pulling out to sea, he cursed. He was about to order one of his ships to pursue when his attention was drawn away.
'Who's ship is that' Roared Barraca roughly grabbing a passer by and pointing towards the huge War Galley in the docks. 'Mr Torres' ship sir' replied the man nervously Barraca shoved him to the ground. This was bad, he hadn't thought Diego Torres to be this powerful. Just another upstart to be crushed but that obviously wasn’t the case. He turned to one of his men.
'Get Rieker to set sail on The Shark right now, tell him to round up all the ships we have away from the Island'.

Out at sea, Farell was deep in thought. Little details of the past few weeks had began to nag at him.
That woman.....the blood at Barraca's neck.....maybe....
Vampire.
The universe around Farell crystalised.
"Mister Stevens, turn this ship around!! We are going back to port."
"Aye, sir" His helmsman nodded.
******************************************
Back on land, Farell all but sprinted up towards Baracca's manshion. No time to play word games with the housekeeper, he went around the back and pushed past the cook to search out Barraca.
Running up the stairs two at a time, Farell burst into Barraca's office, only to find it empty. Cursing, he turned and ran the corridor, kicking open random doors, to find each one empty.
He turned a corner and entered the guest bedroom.
He saw the girl.
He saw the serving boy she was feasting on.
"Vampire!" He screamed, and shot a pistol at her head.
Her neck snapped back, then she turned to look at Farell with bloodstained teeth.
Farell turned and ran, launching himself out of a window.
He landed on the brightly lit street cobbles, and lay there winded for a few seconds, before drawing himself up. His eyes latched onto one of Barraca's random henchmen, and he wandered across to him, demanding to know where Barraca was.
"Heh, If I were you 'Captain', I'd stay right out of Baracca's way".
Farell grabbed the mans lapels, and slammed his forehead firmly into the mans nose.
"Where. Is. Barraca?"

Elathain sat in the crows nest of the ship. ‘Something isn’t right.’ thought Elathain. ‘Farell has been gone for far too long.’
He hopped down onto the deck next to Heinz, the second mate. Heinz was a tall man that was smarter than most people thought. He was also quite the pervert. The only things that kept his mind off of women was money, fighting, and sailing. “Heinz,” said Elathain. “I need you to watch the ship, I’m going in search of the captain. We should be back within the hour.”
“Aye Aye, sir-elf.” Said Heinz, and with that Elathain took off in a graceful sprint off the ship, ignoring the pain in his leg.

There was a game of dice in progress, and Lucas knew how to play.
He had so far lost a lot... all his money, in fact, and was now about to win it all back three times over.
The dice flew, and men cheered. Lucas had learned to spot weighted dice fast, and a few gentle hand-motions, followed by a very well placed dagger threat, had provided him with the winning cubes.
He wandered back to the ship, pausing only to tell a local Watchmen to deal with the dice-shark, the one with the limp.

Still running, despite the twinges from his back, Farell headed towards the club that Barraca's henchman informed him his master would be. Turning a corner, not really looking where he was going, Farell ran into someone. He tripped and fell headlong down the street, and behind him could here violent cursing in the Bretonnian tongue.

Lucas stood up and swore, a task for which Bretonnian is an excellent language. "Watch where your... you look familiar. Where have I seen you before?"

"My name is Captain Marc Farell, former owner of The Pearl, currently working as a captain for Diego Torres. However, introductions are not important now. I need to see Barraca, And you look like a man who can fight, and, Ha" Farell grinned. "I may need some protection. 7 gold pieces if you follow me Bretonnian. What is your name, By the way?"
