Lucas smiled to himself, chinking his advance payment happily.
Ten gold coin! Back home in Bretonnia his father was paid 1 copper coin for a three month campaign as an archer! Whenever he felt low, whenever he believed he should return to his homeland, he just remembered the miserable poverty the nobility enforced on the masses.
He found his cot aboard the ship, and stowed his belongings.

Elathain walked down the cramped hall of the ship looking for a suitable cabin when he walked by one with a Bretonian. 'Thats strang to see a bretonian on a ship.' he though, but then remembered that it was also quite rare to see a wood elf on one. He remembered a time where he actually fought side by side with them. They were quite imposing on there horses. Elathain decided to see what he was doing on the ship. "Pardon me sir," he said as politly as he could "I was wondering what a Britonian such as yourself would be doing on a ship. although it's none of my buisness and I don't mind if you do not wish to tell me, but my curiosoty has gotten the better of me at the moment."

Le Sienne turned and stared into the face of a Fey.
He smiled politely, "I'll tell you, so long as you promise not to steal my soul."
Elathian laughed, knowing the simple beliefs of the peasantry of Bretonnia.
"My name is Lucas Le Sienne. I ran away from my home in Brionne at fifteen by sneaking aboard a merchant vessel. I served as a sellsword in numerous lands, including Far Cathay, for eighteen years after that. Now I'm here, having earnt a thousant times more than I ever could have at home just by signing up for a job." He chuckled to himself, toying with the pendent de lis around his neck, "so how about you, Fey of Loren? What brings one such as yourself out here?"

"I am here on a personal matter. I am here because I am looking to stow away if i cannot find any other ships." The human looked at him with a puzzled look. Elathain heard footsteps. "I would like to stay and chat with you human of Brionne, but I fear discovery. Good day to you." With that Elathain limped down the hall at a quite but still fast pace.

After comparatively little time searching, Farell found his intended target for conversation.
"Good morrow, sweet Elf!!!" he said, while attempting to hug Elathain.
The wood elf looked around worried.....thankfully, there didn't seem to be anyone in earshot, but still....
"Be silent!!!" he whispered....and hustled Farell towards a nearby tavern.
"Now, what did you wish to discuss?" He asked, once they had retired to a suitable alcove.
"Yes my dear old boy" Said Farell. "I was wondering if you may have, or know of anyone who does.....erm..."
Elathain stared at Farell impassivley, waiting for the old sea dog to find his thread.
"Does what?" He inquired.
Farell leaned in close. "Got any jobs for me. I am sick of this island...I want to feel the wind in the sails of a good ship once more. I am serious this time. I am going to buy a new ship. So...any jobs?"

"Sorry I don't know of any. I don't speak with many people. But I would like to help you on whatever quest you might take. This might help a little bit too."
Elathain handed him three dwarven gold coins.
"I might be able to buy us a ship with the rest of my gold. i have about a pouch of it left."

A cloaked figure turned around.
'You can't afford a ship with what you have Elf' the man laughed.
'Who the hell are you' replied Farrel
'I am Diego Torres, you want to captain a ship? feel the winds?, feel the thril of adventure once again?' He smiled. 'I have recently purchased a ship, a decent ship, there will be more to follow, but for this new ship i need a captain and i'm sure that captain would need a first mate' He looked at the Elf.
' So, how about it?, my captains earn 30 Gold a week, 50 during battle. Plus a token of my appreciation and expected loyalty' He tapped a pouch of Gold attatched to his belt '

Farell turned to look at the elf, his heart racing through his chest.....
"I think we should.....Elathain, I have only known you for a day, if that, yet I trust you with my life. Think of it.....Think of all the places you could go. Think of the adventure.....come on, old boy!!!!!"

Elathain wasn't really too keen on the idea. Esspecially since he had just seen the man offering this job kill two men. Elathain looked at Farell. He looked like a puppy begging for a scrap of bacon. He hadn't fought in a long time but had practiced weilding hi staff effectively and still had the bow and was a master of it. Elahtain sighed. He hardly knew Farell but he had a feeling that he was a good man. "Alright. I'm in." Elathain said. "But I would like to know why you are offering this job to us. And where are we going?" He said to Deigo.

'Why?' Replied Torres raising an eyebrow. 'Because as I have said I need a good captain'
'There is obviously more to it than that' Retorted Elathain.
Torres smiled 'Yes, of course. But you do not need to know yet. You aren't taking the ship anywhere. Yet. I need you to get it ship-shape and battle worthy, get the crew upto speed. You will have adventure and excitement once again soon enough Farrel'.

Farell snapped a sharp salute.
"Just as you say sah....and you haven't just got a good captain, sah, you have The Best! I can get you a fine crew in a maximum of a week. I know some of the boys round here, and they would love a job like this!"
For a moment, Farell seemed to withdraw into himself.
"Have you chosen a name for this vessel yet, sah?"

'The best eh?' Diego smiled again 'I'm sure my good friend Barbossa would have something to say about that, but we will see. I have heard that you once had a ship Mr Farrel, The Pearl, I beleive?. Then how about The Pearl of Sartosa?. Its a new ship so needs a name' Diego nodded to himself. 'Yes The Pearl of Sartosa' 'I already have most of the men we will need, although I think we are lacking a few, perhaps ten. Round up as many as you need to fill the ships compliment and then report back to me Mr Farrel'.

Farell bowed. "As you say sir!"
He curtly turned and strolled along the dock towards the Sailors Arms, where there were always old sea dogs for hire.
Oh...and he'd have to visit Barraca and tell him the news. He probably wouldn't be too happy, but what could you do?

Barbossa had just completed another business transaction. He sighed at the thought of the amount of gold he had handed over, not only coin but priceless Lustrian artefacts that they had hoarded in Barter Town.
He had to finalise the deal with ruling prince of Luccini himself, when he had laughed Barbossa felt a pang of fear. It is said that the Prince of Luccini is most dangerous when he is laughing. His bizarre sense of humour a family trait.
'Blue blood' Barbossa spat into the Tilean Sea.
He hated them, still the Prince seemed very happy with the deal, he was especially keen on a bronze mace with strange runes carved into it. Barbossa had no idea about magics but he knew many things from Lustria had magical properties, hence the high price he had put on the artefacts.
Still it was worth it. Here he was at the helm of one of finest Luccinian war galleys. 80 Cannon. The upper deck lined with swivel guns to repel boarding actions. A reinforced hull. Yes this would make a fine flagship for Diego. Barbossa sighed again, he wished he could command this beauty rather than the Spectre, still the Spectre was a fine ship and he was proud to Captain it for Diego. But the boss gets to captain this one.
'Oh well, he is the boss after all' Barbossa says to himself.
Barbossa's mind was running through all the things that he needed to know for the whole thing to work.
Barraca has 12 ships, the Red Locust bieng his flag ship with 90 guns. That was one tough ship.

Having hired 10 men for The Pearl Of Sartosa, Farell headed along to Barraca's manshion to tell him of his, Farells, new employment. As much as Farell considered anyone a friend, Barraca was as high in Farells estimations as "Ratbite" Brown, the barman of the Eighth Of Spades....Now, that man could pull a good pint!.
Once again, Farell saved a little banter for the house keeper. In truth, he had known the woman for years, yet every single time he visited Barraca's manshion she made a great show of not knowing him. Again, she took him into the hall, and bustled off to find Barraca. Once again, Farell stared at the ornements and artefacts from 4 continents.
