UPDATE - I've put asteri next to what I currently have:
* - Own
** - Made/In progress
*** - Painted
Here is my list as posted on Tau Online - it's a WIP so any advice is welcome. My main opponent will be Vampire Counts, but I may also come across Orcs.
How the list is supposed to work:
The Bloodthirster is my Vampire Hunter. He's nice and fast and can fly, so he can get to the enemy commander nice and quick. The Firestorm Blade should make it easier to damage Vampires and prevent them regenerating. Obsidian Armour should prevent any really nasty weapons from taking my Bloodthirster down. Immortal Fury should allow me to finish off targets faster.
Skulltaker is another character hunter, who will probably be sent after enemy heroes. The standard on the second Herald will allow me to severely stunt my opponents magic phase, hopefully reducing the rate at which he can regenerate his forces. Another Firestorm Blade is insurance against being charged by a Vampire or similar gribbly, and gives the Juggernaughts an extra punch. The Armour of Khorne should combine with his riding a Jugger and help him survive that bit longer.
The Tzeench Herald is there to disrupt my opponents battleplans. Hopefully I will be able to cast either Glean Magic of Gift of Chaos. Glean Magic could allow me to 'danse' my units across the battlefield in much the same way as the Vampire Count will be doing with his units. Gift of Chaos would be a nice counter to any force regeneration attempt he makes. The Disc will allow me to relovate the Herald to where his spells will have most effect.
The two larger units of Bloodletters will be running up behind my Bloodcrushers, their banners hopefully helping them to keep up the pace. The smaller unit will most likely reinforce the first Herald, or whichever flank looks like it needs bulking out.
The Bloodcrushers will probably be leading the way (Bloodthirster aside), used as a battering ram against the strongest units that get in the way. The second Herald will be in this unit, with a Firestorm Blade and Armour of Khorne.
The Fleshhounds and Karanak will run up a flank, ready to outflank any units that my Bloodcrushers/Bloodletters are having trouble with. Either that or they will hunt down the Corpse Cart and Necromancer that my opponent will have.
