I was just wondering how many of you proxy models? and what you think about it.
Personally i think its a perfectly reasonable way to test new things before you invest in buying them.
Still i don't think it should be used all the time.

Ditto... proxy models are especially useful for an unofficial army (you don't want to convert 2,000pts of troops, then find they aren't worth the effort!).

I would have to agrre with that. Before i bought my Dark Elves i tested them a few times and found i liked the armies feel. Now im happy I proxied models before buying them.

Yeah proxying is good!!!! I forget which one of you guys use bottle caps. but that was funny. Me and my friend have a giant pile of various models which we use as proxies.
plus proxy models can be allot less annoying to use. like wanting a farseer on a jetbike (40k) not worth it, so I just proxy a jet bike

Yep thats for the counts. And with them you need even more models because they can raise which makes it even worse (like when somebody raises over 10 a turn EVERYTIME she roles the dice, not mentioning any names though *cough*Lene*cough*). Thats why i think proxies are useful in Warhammer. They allow a player to try different units without sheding out alot of dosh!

I had a good proxy Idea. You know how you can get the rigement holders. Get one of them with a piece of paper on it saying what unit it is and how many models it has. then cross out the number then write the new number. Then add special items and stuff. It would save time when proxying an army. The only bad thing is...WE are mainly skirmish. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!
