So with a new set of rules I thought it was time I got back on here.
What are your general thoughts on the new rules? What do you like/dislike? How do you see you having to change your armies now?
To be honest I dont think this rule set was needed in the slightest, all that was needed was some changes to terrain rules and some streamlining of the movement rules.
I am going to have to do a major re-work of all my armies which is of course a pain and no doubt the reason for the rules change.
I see a lot of games now either being a slow grind of big weak stubborn infantry units losing but holding to elite infantry, a slow push until one point in the enemy line breaks and a unit can get around the flanks and disrupt. Stone thrower artillery wars as a pre-curser to any combat.
I think there will also be more early game massacres though thanks to some super spells and a very unpredictable magic system.

After playing several games, I see a few things. I see an extreme loss of tactics due to how charges work, how magic works, and the fact that the larger unit will be stubborn.
I also dislike the fact that you can have a combined 50% of your army be heroes and lords.
Then we get into.... they raped skirmishers. Yes, it's a strong word, but... wow. It's horrible.
There are no longer even play styles. Tactics, quick moving, elite units.... all lose to a block of 50 guys. I bet the best army now will be a giant block of chaos warriors....
