I got my Beasts book today and am finding it very very hard to make a decent 2000 point list. It is the total opposite to Dark Elves, everything is over-priced and it is very hard to squeeze enough into an army to make an effective list.
Here as some ideas;
Mixed Force:
Doombull; Axes of Khorgor, Scaly Skin, Heavy Armour, Stone of Spite, Ramhorn Helm.
So this guy starts with 7 S6 Attacks, Re Rolling ALL misses, with D3 S6 Impact Hits, a 2+ Save and the ability to get an extra attack for every armour save he makes. Plus a 1 use bound spell that makes Arcane Items explode.
Slugtounge;
This guy is a decent enough caster and can devestate enemy armies before the game starts thanks to his special ability.
Moonclaw; Umbralok.
I like this guy for his stone thrower attacks and the fact he can make units stupid and can deal with light cav on his own.
Shaman; Lvl2. Herdstone.
Just an extra power dice generator. I would give him a scroll and a stone but dont want to risk that with the Doombulls item.
So 7-10 power a combat monster a 1 use bound and some nice special effects.

4 Horns can anchor my line and help protect the Shamans whilst also giving a possible extra power. Some Gors and Raiders can Ambush, the others are support units.
3 Minos; 2X Hand Weps, Shields, Standard, Champ.
Doombulls unit. The Hammer.
Cygor;
Extra magic defense plus some decent combat punch and ranged offense
Meat Cleaver Force:
Doombull; Axes of Khorgor, Scaly Skin, Heavy Armour, Many Limbs, Ramhorn Helm.
Shaman; 2 Scrolls, RAZORGOR CHARIOT.

So between 11-15 Power, 2 Stone Throwers, good magic defense, a Bolt Thrower. Then 15 Bows and 3 Ambushing units and scouting harpies to deal with enemy firepower. When the enemy reaches me I have a Chariot and 2 Cygors to try to countercharge with.
