So... reaper happens to produce a line of townsfolk, and I wanted to come up with a way to utilize them in a game. This brings me to the Peasant ojectives.
5-20 peasants may be placed on the board in random locations. Peasants are independant characters and may not join units. They may not leave the board unless fleeing. Peasants have the following characteristics:
M: 4 WS:2 BS:2 S:3 T:3 W:1 A: 1 LD: 7
Special rules: Cowardly peasants: Enemies all count as causing fear to peasants, unless they already cause fear, in which case they cause terror. If they already cause terror, any peasant within range of the terror causing creature/unit will take 1 str. 2 hit per game per unit/ creature within range. The hit is for things like heart attacks, paralysis caused by fear, or a peasants mind snapping like a dry twig.
Throw stones: a peasant may throw a stone up to 12". Anything more than 6" counts as long range.
Victory Points: At the end of the game, count the number of peasants alive. Multiply by 25, and that is the amount of victory points the 'good' side gets added to their score. Tally the dead, multiply by 25, and this gets added to the 'bad' side.

Its a cool idea but it seems much easier for the Evil side to kill them than for the good side to keep them alive. I suppose if the evil side are going out of their way to do that though, then it is taking up their time that they could be using on the enemy so it may balance out.
Let me know how it works out if you get around to playtesting it.
The Mordheim range also has a set of villagers that you could use too.
