i have a wood elf army that's around 1000 points and i'm wanting opinions on it, i'm new to fantasy so... ^_^
well here goes!
HEROES wood elf noble- 140 pts wardancer kindred moonstone of hidden ways (orb of awesomeness in my case)
spellsinger- 150 pts level 2 wizard Calaignors stave
branch wraith- 90 pts a cluster of radients
CORE 10 Glade guard- 126 pts lords bowman
8 dryads- 96 pts
SPECIAL 5 wardancer troupe- 111 pts musician blade singer
RARE treeman- 285 pts
my general tactic with the army is to distract who i'm playing against to focus solely on the treeman and units surrounding it. using tree sing to move the trees around, mainly so they're closer to one of my opponents units and another closer to my wardancers, until the trees are behind the unit i want to attack and have my wardancers use the moonstone of hidden ways to flank that unit.
hope it's ok... ^_^ thanks in advance for the opinions

I must say your combinations are pretty good. Be sure to put your spellsinger in with the glade guard, but reall, it is a prettyy interesting list.
Make sure not to use your dryads alone, becuase if they don't run your opponents off, there is a really good chance they will lose combat resolution (most likely outnumbered, a rank or 2, and a banner) so be careful there.

i usually have my dryads in the same general area as the treeman, thanks for the advice! although once, due to a lucky roll, they did take out a wyvrn on their own...
but i'll keep the spellsinger and dryad advice in mind for the next game i play!

The list seems fine to me, nice and balanced. Nothing I would change.
It is a lot of points invested in the Treeman in such low point games though. Something like a Dwarven Bolt Thrower with Rune of Burning could cause some problems but thats obviously just very situational.
Maybe keep this as your standard list [as it no doubt works] but try a few with a little more in the way of numbers instead of the treeman. It will give your army a completely different feel. I would suggest trying out some Glade Riders in small units and using them to bait and lure enemy units with flee reactions to allow you to get charges off with your Dryads/Wardancers.
May make a nice change of pace as opposed to using the Treeman as an anvil to get the charge with your Dryads/Wardancers which I imagine you do now?

Your army looks pretty solid but I'd be worried about being outnumbered. However, the treeman (or Big Stompy Thing as I like to call it) solves that problem cause of his resilience and the amount of hurt he can dish out, so being outnumbered is kind of irrelevant.

i guess you noticed my little brackets thing for the moonstone? ^_^
so if i made a 2000pt army what would you recommend for me/my style of playing?

I always think that a Spellweaver with the staff that allows re-rolled dispel is always a nice buy at 2,000 points. Then maybe add some Dryads.
Failing that and seeing as though you really like the Treeman, perhaps another Spellsinger and another Treeman. Then Dryads to fill out your core.

hi veq, i'm blue's fiance, n she just had to reply;
"the reason i called my treeman humprey is because according to gumgum's friends i'm Helga the barbarian, but seeing as though i don't have an axe to call humprey the axe of celibacy i had to make do with my treeman!! ^_^ lol freddy the feeler"
i second that, freddy's awesome
