Was trying to work out a Cult of Khaine list last night and thought this could be competative;
Hellbron; Master; Battle Standard, Standard of Hag Greaf, Shield, Cloak, Heavy Armour, Cold One, Scourge.
These both join;
15 Executioners; Full Command. [Makes 6x3]
10 Crossbows; 10 Crossbows;
12 Witches; Hag, Musician.
7 Shades; Great Weapons.
Assassin; Rending Stars, 2 Hand Weps, Manbane. Assassin; Rending Stars, 2 Hand Weps, Manbane. Assassin; Rending Stars, 2 Hand Weps, Manbane. Assassin; Rending Stars, 2 Hand Weps, Manbane.
Hag; Couldren of Blood;
So my Executioners would have one unit of crossbows in front of them as a meatshield and to stop Hellbrons Frenzy from getting her killed. The Couldren of blood would deploy right behind them.
This would make that unit Stubborn on Ld10 with a Re-Roll. It would give each Executioner 2 ASF S6 Attacks each. It would give Hellbron - 9 S10 ASF Attacks!. They are also Immune to Fear thanks to that Cold One!
The Witches I would use as a flanker, same with the Shades, they could also hunt Warmachines. Those Assassins can do anything from assassinate characters, kill big monsters/chariots with their stars to hunting war machines.
Plus I do have 27 Repeater Crossbows. Just a shame the Hag cant take the Ring of Hotek as my magic defense is very lacking.

If I were you, I would definately drop at least one assassin, as well as manbane from each of the others. I would also drop the throwing star from one of them and give it the rune of Khaine instead. This would free you up points for a simple unit of 5 harpies and 4-5 witches and a standard for them. I wrote up a list quite similar to this, though after reading your reasoning for how you have Hellbron, I see that you may be right. Mine was: Hellbron on a ManticoreMaster: Battle Standard (Standard of Hag Greaf[seriously, what else?]) Shield, Cloak, Heavy Armour, Scourge Hag with Cauldron of Blood Assassin: Rending Stars, 2 hand weapons Assassin: Rending Stars, 2 hand weapons Assassin: Rune of Khaine, 2 hand weapons 10 Crossbows 10 Crossbows 5 Harpies10 Witch Elves With Full Command 15 Executioners With Full Command 7 Shades1995 Points I may switch out the Executioners for 14 Black Guard with a full command, which would raise my total to 2002 points... Hellbron is unit strength 5 with the manticore, and is immune to outnumbering. Add that to flying, and we have something that not only march blocks, but rapes units alone, which in my opinion is rare. The shades are cheap and good at killing war machines, march blocking, and killing those pesky elven eagles... This is the way I was thinking about playing them, but the lack of any Cold ones made me a little... unhappy with my list. And yeah, I stole your format Also, to get a 2500 I just added 5 Cold One Knights with a Full Command HydraSorcoress (Lvl 2) with the Tome of Furion (another chance at pit of shades and steed of shadows...)

Manbane + Throwing Stars gives those Assassins S7 Vs T5 Chariots though. S7 vs Dragons too. It also usually makes him at least S5 in close combat. The top tourney winning Dark Elf lists are full of Manbane/Rending Star Assassins.
Your list looks fine although I would be a little concerned about the Standard on the Witches giving away VP's and Hellbron dying to shooting, she is really pretty fragile, even with the Manticore at least on foot and striking first, she should kill anybody before they can hit her and she does reduce their attacks if they do. Having her on a Manticore does add an extra element to the army and provides a great unit breaker if you get a rear/flank charge, you'll just have to be careful to avoid enemy missile fire.

You know, you are quite right on all of those points... and taking her off the manticore does add back a good amount of points, definately enough to buy back the manbanes.
Or it would give you enough to add a war hydra and one manbane (probably to one of the ones wit hthe throwing stars.)
And personally, I think the hydra is worth it just to toss through a forest and the breath weapon...

Yeah, a Hydra is an awesome addition to any list. I didn't put one in mine as I wasgoing for the pure theme but it still isn't out of place, if you want your list to be the best it can be, I would certainly include one.

Something about beastmasters felt Khainite to me without them belonging to Khaine. Overflow from Dark Eldar maybe Wasn't there a lord that made witches a troop choice?

Gah, just realised my list is illegal.
That Master cant join the Executioners as he is not Khainte, so he would have to be replaced by a Hag with the 5+ Ward and -1 Attack as the Battle Standard with that banner instead. Nowhere near as durable but at least she fights better.

Nice catch. That means mine is too.... I guess I have to rewrite it.
Crone Hellbron Death hag with cauldron of blood Death hag (bsb) standard of Hag Graef
Assassin Manbane and Throwing stars Assassin Manbane and Throwing stars Assassin Manbane and Rune of Khaine
10 Crossbows with musician 10 Crossbows with musician 6 Harpies
10 Executioners with Full Command 10 Witches with Full Command 7 Shades with Extra hand weapon, light armor, and Bloodshade
1 war hydra
The beastmasters confuse me. I was told they can't be attacked or killed, but army builder says they have 2/3 attacks each? added to the Hydra's 7? (I would check my book, but it's downstairs...)

I would drop maybe some Crossbows to give the BSB some defence and add in a few more Executioners.
You can attack the Beastmasters and the Beastmasters can attack. The rule is just so that if you can attack the Beastmasters OR the Hydra you must attack the Hydra. Plus you cant get the Beastmasters with any missile fire.
Beastmasters are very good in combat, 3 WS4 Hatred Armour Piercing Attacks each.
