Well, anyone who knows me knows that I love converting. I wanted to share my newest one with you, but it would appear that my girlfriend has one of my cameras, and my other's cord is missing. Rather than tease you, I decided to show you guys some of my Fantasy conversions, and tell you the story behind each.
Orc Siege tower: Well, right before one of the local hobby shop's campaign, we were informed that there would be at least one siege per day, so a friend and I decided to make siege towers. I bike a mile to his house every day for a week, and we each made one. This one is mine, as at the time I played orcs. Unfortunately we found to our dismay that though our ramps lowest points were around 10", the walls were only.... 5" tall. It was still fun to make.
Gangsta Orc: Well.... this year I decided I was too old to go Trick or Treating on Halloween and am to much of a sociopath to go to the Halloween dance (or just didn't feel like it, I don't know) when I was thought of a string of rascist jokes a friend and I had inadvertantly made about how every culture was represented in Warhammer, except for Blacks. Then it hit us: Orcs. We weren't picking on blacks as a whole, just the "Gangsta" ones, with the poor grammer (Ebonics) and gang activity and such. We even made a rap song about "Da boyz in my low ridin' wartrukk" and "Ridin' orky." This was the byproduct of that weird day.
And yes, those are nikes.
Santorc: well.... it was christmas eve and my best conversion muse was flowing through my veins (alcohal) so I sat down, picked up a random orc and decided that it was time to do something new. Here is what happened.
And yes, I was planning on a chariot for him and some gobbo elves, but the chariot almost killed me and I gave it to Grunt. This is why you wait for GS to dry and clear coat it...
Kratorc: I was at my friend's house once more, and I was letting Grunt play my Gobbos against him, so I decided to convert something. I had just bought a model dragon from him, but I needed a rider for him. With some "inspiration" flowing through my veins, my bleery vison settled upon the case of my God of War game that I had allowed him to borrow.
The armor is based off from kratos's black and gold armor from the beginning of the second game, IIRC.
Chaos Troll: some friends at the hobby shop had convinced me to start playing GW's "Rat ogre" so seeing an awesome conversion oppurtunity, I dove right in, making 2 rat ogres and one chaos troll.
"I wished I had an angel": I was listening to the nightwish song "Wish I had an angel," while writing fluff for Wargamer's (From TO for those of you that don't know) game; Temporal Rifts, when I decided; "Hey, lets build an angel." This was my greatest GS work ever, something that took at least 4 hours, and it was before GW came out with their bits ordering page. I screwed up in some places by smudging feathers together with my thumb, and the paint job is terrible, but this was still the best bit of GS work I ever have and ever will do.
That's all for now, until I get my camera and show you what happens when I get my hands on driftwood, glue, and bubonic brown paint, followed by the decision to drybrush the whole thing with skullwhite.
