(I don't know if any of you know tactic but i though i might aswell post it on here anyway).
What you need: Wizard (Lord) with Van Horstmann's speculam and the lore of shadow (for Steed of Shadows).
Options: Swap lore of shadow for fire (for Flaming Sword of Ruin). If swapped you could by buy Ring of Volans and try for Steed of Shadows. A Steed. Or a magical weapon.
What you do.
Basically this tactic involves tricking your opponent into thinking he/she can get an easy kill through your wizard, however you'll be the one getting the easy kill, one thier combat powerhouse! Step 1) Put the wizard into an appropriate combat unit and get him/her close to the enemy. Step 2) Charge the out the unit using steed of shadows and into combat into the unit (or the just the character) that your chosen combat powerhouse is in. Step 3) Challenge the combat powerhouse to a challenge. Step 4) Unexpectantly use the speculum to beat the powerhouse and possibly (hopefully!!) kill it.
This tactic may not work agaisnt players that know about it and those who's characters don't have that good statlines but brilliant weapons rules (e.g. chaos have a better statline that high elves when it comes to causing more damage).
Hopefully that helps, Ollieb.

The Speculum is very lethal, I like it on a Pegasus Captain though. That way you arent risking any dispel dice being lost if he dies.
