OK, so.... Some of you may have guessed; I'm still deciding on what army I want. OK, truth is; I want a versatile army like IG (in which I can play all-Infantry, Mechanized or Drop Troops). An army which allows me to be anything from Macedonian Phalanx to Mounted Archers of the Mongols. So, help please? P.S.: Oh, the army should be the least played as well? I don't like playing overused armies. Thanks! - Zenny

Dogs of War is the most versatile list in my opinion. You can actually do the closest thing to Fantasy Macedonian Phalanx with this list, you can also easily do an all Horse Archer army.
Its also a very rare army.

Ah, Dogs of War. I'm planning to use Araby fluff for my army and I also want to ask; is it possible to use other models from other armies for DoW?

Dogs of War are the perfect army to use other models for.
They also have an Arabayan Fast Cav unit. Al Muktars Desert Dogs. Duellists will make great Arabayan Corsairs.
What models are you using? I always thought Lord of the Rings Harad models would make great Arabayan models they are a little smaller but that would just add to the numberless hordes thing.

Do you mean use units from other armies, or use their models to represent your troops? The second choice is a definately, and should be tournament legal, granted the tournament accepts DoW. If the model is a GW model, I don't see where the problem would lie.
*Veq beat me to it by about 3 seconds...

Well, I'm still looking through the models. Gotta have a theme for them. But I wouldn't mind mixing units here and there And Deraj, I mean use models from other armies to represent the units of DoW

Dogs of war are a good choice, but high/dark elves have lots of different tactical options and some of the most interesting unit choices in the game. They'd both be worth reading up on. Unfortunately both are popular armies.
Dogs of war are probably your best option. They also have less magic items than the other armies, so your game will be about using your troops to best effect, not pulling out insane magic item combos.

Zenny, I like the DoW, but the "legality" might be an issue if you decide to play on GTs or something. But never the less. DoW are great and have both character and brutality that can win games and win them with style ^_^. Empire might be a good option. You don't have to use there models, you can do stand ins if you have some ideas about that. Empire is an original TVI (which by the look of the army-topic you seem to like ^_^) too. Dark elves are a good option too. With new book you can defiantly run TVI with it. Their spears are VERY cheap and I think they are 4+ save (I think they have Heavy armor now, but not 100% on that), and having hatred and WS4 it adds to an over all picture. Plus new book is fantastic. It’s both powerful and finesse, just like REAL elves should be. ***Seriously, book is great! I like it a LOT more then three last bandwagons*** All three (DoW, Empire and Dark Elves) are NOT easy armies. I hope you will settle on one of them as even though being not easy, they are very rewarding once you get a grip on them. DoW might be slightly underpowered now(no ubber magic items and no psych immunities), but STILL are very very lethal when played right. Ohh and I guess welcome to the TVI hehe ^_^ Infantry is our way! ^_^ And remember, if you'll build yourself TVI, odds are you will be only one in your area who runs it. In our shop there only one guys who runs TVI and he plays Empire. ^_^ P.S. And please please stay away from the penzee High Elves! Don't jump on that bandwagon! XD Walk Tall everyone!!!!!

I don't imagine they'll stay that way, though.
As far as versatile armies go, I might suggest Empire, but I'm really surprised that no one has mentioned Orcs and Goblins.
O&G have two fast cav core choices to make the horse archer army. From the Orc army book, you can make a list based around:
-All mounted army (4 cav options, 3 Chariots) -Goblin Horde -Night Goblin Horde -Orc Horde -Savage Orcs -Elite Heavy Infantry (Black Orcs)
The list goes on and on. You just have to able to put up with their sheer unreliability.
