With the new DE's coming out, I'm going to expand the few DE's I have to a 1000p army.
A quick look and it seemed pretty possible. With buying a Battalion, Army Book and AoW's awesome DE Noble and using 16 unmoddelled DE warriors I think I got a pretty good army. Comments needed.
Heroes: (1) Noble - Armour of Darkness - 95p
Core: (24) Dark Elf Warriors - Lordling - Musician - Standard Bearer - (24) Shields - 217p
(10) Corsairs - Reaver - Standard Bearer - Musician - 125p
(10) Corsairs - Reaver - Standard Bearer - Musician - 125p
(10) Dark Elf Warriors - (10) RXB - 110p
(10) Dark Elf Warriors - (10) RXB - 110p
Special: (5) Cold One Knights - Dread Knight - Musician - Standard Bearer - 190p
TOTAL: 972p
Gives me 28p spare.. any idea?

It looks nice and balanced to me, although Ive not seen the new army book yet I have heard that Corsairs are best served in small flanking units.

I'd drop the standards on those Corsairs too, that will free up even more points.

But then I would have 48 points spare, that I have no idea at all for what I can use them. Any suggestions?

I would replace Armour of Darkness with a good magic weapon. And give him heavy armour/shield. That way you have more striking power. And if it's possible, I would give the DE warriors Warbanner... Static CR of 5...

Maidenante's suggestions and Veqs and good, I'd suggest doing what they said. A warbanner on the cold one knights would help them out a bit too.
Seems like a nice solid build to be starting with, especially with that many warriors in 1k games. It should do nicely.
Those corsair units should be very useful for you. Use them aggresively to force your opponent into charges he doesn't want to make or to assist the warriors once they're in combat.
