The second most influential place in the Border Princes is the town of Aldium. The closest thing to an international trading city like Marienburg. Because of its proximity to the Old Silk Road and the fortress of Malko. Aldium sees a good deal of foreign trade.
This traffic brings in a number of specialist mercenaries, caravan guards, and other well trained soldiers into the town. Just outside of Aldium lies a small colony of artists, intellectuals, Tilean engineers, outcast alchemists from the Empire, tinkers, mecahnics and craftsmen of all kinds.
This intellectual and free-spirited community is accepting of all kinds of eccentrics: religious zealots, discredited wizards and the odd mystical creature or two.

Valmont was waiting in his large home on the outskirts of Aldium, he didn’t stay here very often. It was not in Valmont’s best interests to let people find him easily, particularly with what he got up to and the amount of enemies that he had made.
Still he was meeting with a close friend.
There was a rap at the door but Valmont knew when this man would arrive, his network had told him as soon as his old friend had set off towards the estate.
Two heavily muscled halberdiers allowed the man entrance, then again Valmont doubted very much that they could have stopped him despite what he was paying them.
'Danzig my old friend'
The two men clasped each others fore-arms.
'There is something i need you to do before we raid the caravan, but first of all. All your elements are prepared i assume?' Asked Valmont suspiciously.
'Yeh of course, have i ever let you down?'
'Hmm, no but i know for a fact that you aren’t fully prepared yet'
The grizzled Kislevite gave a wry smile and chuckled his huge frame shaking.
'I'll be ready in time. So this extra job?'
'We need to disrupt the carrion band and my contacts tell me that they are raiding one of the warehouses tonight, you and your lads will take them out'
'Sure, how many' Asked Danzig
'Only about 30 men, give or take a few'
' Oh is that all eh? ,I don't know if i can get enough men by tonight, most of my guys are busy organising things for the big caravan job'
'Danzig you own part of the Inn, i'm sure you can gather up a few able sell-swords from there. Just be discrete'
As Danzig was leaving Valmont realised how foolish his last words were. discrete, Danzig.
'HA'
