The Mercury Order
Named after Mercus, first Captain of Alyx, the Mercury Order is the oldest and most respected of the Orders.
Situated in Alexhiem, the Order is the second-largest in existence, and more King of Arms have come from this Order than any other. Its men train to fight with sword and shield, the traditional Evadian weapons.
The Order is home to three of the Captain bloodlines; Mercury, Meridioc and Peregrin.
Over its long and glorious history, the Mercury Order has seen many battles, and answers the call to arms all over Evadia. They have a large garrison presence in the southern areas of Evad, and help to defend the likes of Vulcania from threats. Because it is so spread out across Evadia, and due to the age and renown of the Order, it recruits from all regions.
The current leader of the Order is Alexander Valkys Mercury. The Colours of the Order are a deep, rich blue.
The Dragon Order
Second Order of Evadia, the Dragon Order is almost as old as the Mercury Order, and easily rivals it for renown.
The Dragon Order is the largest of the Orders, and it makes use of its considerable manpower to send troops wherever battle is joined. As such, Dragon Knights are seen by many as the “standard” Evadian knight. They also command garrisons all along the coast, watching for attack from the ocean.
The Dragonheart, Gryphon, Jericho and Nixon bloodlines all call the Dragon Order their home. Of all of these, the Gryphon family has led the Order more than any other.
After Derac Dragonheart became King of Arms, the dragon Breyarc became the King’s Dragon, and served this role until he was slain, along with Meridioc, in the Storm of Chaos.
Aside from its Dragons, the Order also specialises in cavalry. Their weapons are the Halberd and Lance, both of which their men use with considerable skill. Indeed, the Dragon Order has a special rank of “Lancer” Knight, a knight dedicated to fighting from horseback.
The current ruler of the Order is John Valkys Dragonheart. The Colours of the Dragon Order are emerald green.
The Atlas Order:
Named after the Atlas bloodline, the Order was founded after the War of Chaos, and as such has more Praetorians than any other.
The families of Atlas and Thor transferred to the Order, and have become a vital part of their forces. Their weapons are the Hammer and the Greatsword.
The Atlas Order have numerous garrisons along the north and east boarders of Evadia, so many in fact that almost all of their strength is evenly spread, unlike the other Orders who have a concentrated core. In addition, their Order is stationed in the remote fortress of Draknir, away from other settlements. The Order recruits primarily from Essenvage, Kakria and other remote boarder settlements. However, like all Orders, they do have a number of aspirants from all regions of Evadia.
Sebastian Thor is the current Lord Baron of the Atlas Order, and the Colours of the Order are a deep red.
The Templar Order:
Still a young Order, the Templars have more Questors than any other Order, and launch numerous attacks out into the badlands surrounding Evadia. Their forces constantly march out to find and destroy Orcs, Beastmen or the Chaos Dwarves, or drive towards Sylvania to assail the Vampire Counts within.
The Templars favour twin-sword fighting styles, and recruit almost entirely from Tabberriek. As such, it is common to see members of the City Guard bolstering their armies.
The Templars have a very traditional view of battle, and tend to avoid cannon and black powder weapons. Instead, they have a large compliment of Onagers in their armoury, and their Men At Arms train with Crossbows and Longbows instead of handguns.
The Colours of the Order are black, and the current leader is Techys Decimus.
The White Tigers Order:
Newly founded, the Order takes its name from the large hunting cats found on the Venom Islands where the Order is stationed.
The White Tigers were created as a Crusade Order, charged with taking the mineral-rich islands from the Norse, Orcs, Beastmen and Cathayans. Striking in winter, the White Tigers successfully took the islands by spring, defeating much larger foes with speed and skill. Their Order Headquarters is situated in a Cathayan castle that was taken early in the campaign.
The Order has now begun training for battle in the humid lands of Lustria. Their forces have landed in New Evad, and several other locations. Strikes into Nagarroth are also planned, and it is clear this Order’s baptism of battle is far from over…
Currently, the Order does little recruitment of its own. However, Aureushiem houses one of their garrison forts, and ships filled with fresh Knights Errant and Men At Arms sail regularly to strengthen the White Tigers front lines.
The weapon of choice of the order is the Evadian Glaive, a cross between a Halberd and a Spear. Their Order Colours are White.
The current leader of the Order is Menx Jerran, who is confident that his men can conquer the jungle.
