Ok, for those of you who have read the generals compedium and have the Border Prince Campaign map, this is a good starting point for any GM of this campaign to get going. You would give each participant one of these starter packs(fits on 3 pages of A4 in size 12 font). I hope this helps.
Campaign roster starter pack:
Starting Forces:
1 Capital: 500pts of troops of which 250pts can be special or rare.
1 Watchtower: 400pts of core and up to 1 war machine.
1 Supply centre: 250pts o core.
1 Lord level character who represents the overall general of your forces (as you don’t actually pay for this character it is advised to spend as many pts as the army list allows on them).
An additional 2500pts to spend on troops and characters (to be divided by each player per the normal army list restrictions).
Banner types:
Defensive banners:
Advantages:
Always has at least 3 defended obstacles.
War machines cost 75 % of normal cost.
Disadvantages:
Moves at half rate.
No more than one unit of cavalry.
No monsters.
Scouting banners:
Advantages:
Add 50% to scouting range.
No need for baggage trains.
+1 for fleeing combat(this is in campaign turns not game).
Move freely through woods and swamps(same as above).
2 rolls on scout chart and pick the best.
Disadvantages:
No heavily armoured or unstealthy troops(so no warmachines, blackpowder, knights, monsters, savage orcs, boar boys, etc).
Cannot be more than 500pts.
Max 2 scout banners per army.
Regular banners:
War machines cost an extra 25% to represent the difficulty in moving them.
Additional need to know rules:
Each army requires a baggage train (free), they are represented by a single cart/wagon pulled by a suitable beast of burden and crewed by three core troopers.
Cart: T 5 W3
Steed: M6 S3 T1 W2.
For purposes of missile fire treat it as a war machine except the steed is hit on a 1.
If the steed is lost it can be moved by the crew at half their normal rate.
The cart and animal offer no attacks or unit strength(all good mounts are being used in battle!).
The baggage is captured if the crew is killed/broken in combat and the unattended cart is touched by an enemy unit, it is not lost if it is recaptured before the game ends.
They count for 150pts in games where victory pts are needed.
If captured its added to the capturing banner.
(banners begin to lose forces without baggage trains).
Banners over 3000pts require two baggage trains with penalties if either is lost.
-------------------------------------------------------------
A roster is needed for each force(standing or banners) 2 copies of each are needed 1 for yourself and 1 for the GM. Each roster must have unit and character stats as they will change throughout the campaign as will squad sizes so its advisable to do your rosters on a PC so it will be easy to alter you will also need space for unit special rules as units can gain things such as stubborn for example if they held a bridge against a huge force the games master might give them this special rule.
Rosters should be divided into standing forces(the ones you get free with watchtowers for example).
A list of all characters with which force they are assigned to is also required.
You will also need a list to record prisoners(usually enemy heroes).
Rosters are required within __ days of receiving this. Its advisable not to tell other participants what is in your lists.
