and so help you god if you try and steal it!
Okay my tomb kings are themed on basic history of egypt. Mainly on the last dynasty which is the ptolemy dynasty of egypt, which are actually romans, due to alexander the great taking egypt.
as such the tomb king is actually in roman armour.
The warriors are all in roman battle gear and arrayed in a phalanx. The tomb guard are the elite and so have the best equipment.
The heavy cavalry are all roman cavalry.
The liche priests are the only egyptian thing in there. I have taken the one off the casket of souls and cut off his lower half and he is flying on a giant sand storm.
another liche priest has put in his place on the casket and I have carved it out so when the lid is moved screaming voices echo out of it.
The tomb scorpions are cerebus and hades in large proportions.
so any comments? once I get my camera I will have some pics to show off.....

I would definitely like to see it! My own theme is Egyptian as well, but less of the Romon and more according to the "original" mythos.
Let us see how it comes along!

It depends on how he likes to play.
S7 weapons are a powerful weapon againest the tomb kings because of the peponderance of chariots.
mainly big units will defeat a tomb king army as they can't raise more troops like vamps, just replensih the units they have.
I like taking large units of infantry which is one of the many weaknesses of the tomb kings.
I would say tomb kings are a very difficult army to play with.....

The other thing to keep in mind is Tomb King Incantations, the magic that ties the army together. The magic is what turns the Kings' undead warriors from overpriced halflings into the single deadliest weapon this side of Witch Elves.
Magic should be one of his strongest foci, and should be something you expect to deal with. Bound items, the Incantations themselves, the Will of the Prince/King, even the Altar should all be considered dangerous.
If you think it's NOT dangerous, just consider the Wood Elves... Normally, they don't have to worry about being outmaneuvered. Can that still hold true against an army that can hurl its forces forward on a 21" charge? A 40" charge? That can effectively unleash four stone thrower shots a turn?
The Tomb Kings are different (and sometimes considered difficult because of that), but that is because they are a finesse army. Each individual element is darn near useless unsupported; together, the whole of it is the most terrible thing this side of Archaon's hellcannons.
For your brother, I'd recommend he practice by playing several games to test out new units. Also, setting up "scenarios" wouldn't be a bad idea either. Get a unit he wants to look at, any random enemy unit, and play out a turn or two. Quick and painless, and it might reveal ideas unconsidered beforehand.
As far as playing *against* the Tomb Kings, well....
Most Dwarf and Empire players I know have an annoying love of character sniping with cannons; irritating as anything, but it works on knocking out the primary character target: The Tomb Priest holding the army together. Kill him and the Kings start to crumble... But take care! The Prince himself is still the actual General of the force; units close to him (might) be using his leadership to prevent dissolving. It's worth looking into for confirmation.
Otherwise, the only thing that can be done is to attempt to stop his battleplan with your own. If he wants a coordinated charge, attempt to break it up via cannon fire or diverting key elements of the attack. Remember the power of FEAR, and that his regiments will automatically rout yours if they outnumber in close combat and win!
Most undead armies attempt to win not by killing your troops but by scaring them from the battlefield. That is where they are most dangerous.
Good luck to both of you!

Well alexander the great was Minowen or Babalonian, but he is more widely considered Greek not Roman!!!! As the dynaisty I think you are refering to is the Greek Pharoahs

Wasn't Alexander the great Macedonian.
Im sure Babalonia was a middle eastern empire and that the minowens were tribes people (kind of like aztecs i think although i'm probably wrong on that one).
Anyway it seems like a nice theme. I'm tempted to use tombking models in my necron army particularly the gaurds off the casket of souls as pariahs.

yep, alexander was the great macedonian...
and roman or greek, it matters little. they had many things in common (mostly cos the romans got most of their ideas from the greeks)

Ok for a start that was out of order. Although im a DE that was just plain evil mate. You could have been polite and declined his advice or simply ignored it. Everyone is entitled to their views and opinions. He voiced his openly and tried to gain infromation. other people talked about it with him. Are they to be shouted at as they went out of thread? I didnt see you say anything to Veq did you. No. So you shut up and learn your place in this conversation. You do not have the rite to tell people what they can and cannot talk about. You are not the mod so shut the feth up. And also, he is not an anul retentive, he is also a player and you will respect this. If anything you are the idiot around here. He is ENTITLED toa view and so are you. They oppose one another so d**n what. If he wants to talk about that and other people wish to discuss it with him then so be it. That is their choice. NOT yours!!!
