4 Lead-Belchers: Thunder-Fist: 230pts
Special Total: 460pts
Total: 997pts
I really like the leadbelcres and due to this ive tried to create an army based around them.
My fluff for this army will run along the lines that they have moved to the west and have close alliances with the empire which has led them to develop their love of firepower. As such the hunter is not a hunter as such, he has been taken due to his gun. (How i am to explain the sabre tusks i don't know).
Actually regarding the hunter i could have allainces with the dwarves (chaos) and use juggernought conversions for them, anyway i digress...
Anyway what do you think of the list, any advice for changes etc? bear in mind what i want for the force.

i saw this list Veq and really liked it. I've just bought the army book and have been pouring over it and think that in smaller armies leadbelchers are really worth 2x their weight in gold(which is saying alot) in the current configuration you could tote up the battle field, fire off all 8 cannons and start bull rushing, or annihilate an army with an alternate firing patter.

Im tempted for a scrap launcher as well, to fit in with the firepower theme.
Although because i hate gnoblars (well im not that keenon them) my scrap launcher model would be a leadbelcher riding an armour plated rhinoxen.
I was Thinking about trying to get the belchers up the flanks and getting off one round of shooting each. Then the bulls would charge, in the next turn which would allow the belchers to then charge a pinned flank. Or if they turn to face my belchers after the shooting then the belchers charge and the bulls hit the flanks.
Although your alternating fireing pattern sounds very tempting as well.
I baught 4 leadbelchers on saturday they do look great.

They are quite a good unit , but i hat ethe models.

What?, do you mean how did the yhettis become how they are?.
If so, they are ogres that have just been living in the highest parts of the mountains for years and evolved into the beasts they now are, although they still have a close connection to their regular ogre kin.

Oh i dont mind the fluff just the models.
It's just the fluff doesnt fit with my western(not as in wild west i might add) ogre, shooty theme.
The weapons are like that as the ogres have a kind of cold energy and i assume they breath on thier weapons and just generally give out an aura of cold.

I think a really cool alteration (maybe try it 1 or 2 times)
Of this army is to pull a belcher off each unit add a gorger and spend the 35 odd points on your bruiser or give your bulls ironfists.
I think the gorger speaks for itself and the ironfists would just boost your bulls in combat all round.

A good idea but with that list it uses what you get in the box sets well.
You get 4 leadbelchers per box: 2 units of 4.
6 Bulls a box: 2 unit sof 3 bulls=6 bulls.
So that should save money.

I'd like to keep the army quite cheap but an extra gorger wont be too expensive.
Once i get the models i'll have a go at using the army both ways and see which is best.

It is a good army list and I like the idea of a shooty Ogre army. Mines quite differenr but i will post that soon. Did you ever think of having a bigger unit of bulls instead of one of the leadbelcher units?? Just a suggestion.
